As we continue enhancing our Slate system to better support campus needs, we’ve created this page to track upcoming project requests. Below, you’ll find a list of proposed enhancements and features that have been requested. This helps provide transparency on what’s being considered and allows campus users to see what’s in the pipeline.

Academic Advisement

• Class Schedule in Slate

  • Allow advisors to "tag" students as not returning or taking a semester off
• Recreate process for Check-in
  • Utilize Student ID scanning

Academic Units

  • Create process for students to register for admission auditions and transparent process for students to be officially admitted to the Competitive/Selective program

• Replace PDF forms on website
• Recreate Kiosk for Check-in

Graduate School

• I-20 Processing
  • Automate I-20 processing in Slate with forms
• Graduation Clearance

International Education

• Chatbot
  • Request for AI chat bot to be included on CIE website

Registrar's Office

• Certification Letters
• Absence Notices
• Legacy Alternate Tuition Rate
  • Build process for form submission and processing in Slate
• Unified Graduate Survey
  • Surveys sent upon graduation by Career Development Center and Alumni Association (and possibly others) in addition to Registrar's survey

Slate Team

• User Home Screen Revisions
  • Reduce overall amount of queries and homescreens through use of Pinned Filter queries

Student Success

• Multiple Staff Assignments
  • Assign students to Student Affairs or Student Multicultural Resource Center or Student Success contacts in addition to academic advisor

Undergraduate Admissions

• Scheduler for Admissions Coordinators
  • Set up availability so prospective students can schedule meetings with their assigned recruiter just as current students can with academic advisors
• Event Name Badges
  • On-the-spot event name badge printing
• Application Pool Admission, Offer, Waitlist and Denial
  • Build transparent process for competitive/selective admission programs to offer admission, waitlist, and deny students to their programs 

University Communications & Marketing

• Slate Training Website
  • Site to host training Slate Manual and training videos
• Deliver Designer
  • Build drag and drop components in Slate to users to easily create visually appealing emails and portals
