Illinois Politics 2024: Why a Swing State Stopped Swinging And Why Wisconsin Remains A Competitive Two-Party State

This political roundtable will consider why Illinois, once a robust two-party state, has become a Democratic stronghold. What happened politically? Why? What is the real margin of Democratic dominance in Illinois? How have Democrats used this time of political dominance to change public policy? What can Republicans do to become a competitive force in Illinois politics and a contributing force to public policy development?

We will also consider the complicated and intriguing political dynamics of Wisconsin, in which the power dynamic is very different.
