Kai Bird, one of the United States' leading biographers and a Pulitzer Prize recipient, will join the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute on Wednesday, October 30, at 10 am CT for a discussion on the statesmanship of former President Jimmy Carter. Bird will discuss with Institute director John Shaw his biography of Carter, “The Outlier: The Unfinished Presidency of Jimmy Carter,” as well as several of his other books. Bird is the author of seven books, including five biographies. He is the co-author of “American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer” which won the Pulitzer Prize in 2006. The book was the basis for the award-winning film, “Oppenheimer.” The conversation will be part of the Institute’s “Understanding Our New World” series.
