Morton-Kenney Lecture Series
Dr. Paul Djupe, a nationally recognized expert on religion and politics, will visit SIU on March 20 to give the spring Morton-Kenney lecture.
His lecture will focus on the complex relationship between religious communities and democratic engagement, drawing from his extensive research on how religious identities shape political behavior and public opinion.
Dr. Djupe is a political scientist and professor at Denison University. His work explores the intersection of religion and politics in the United States, with a focus on political participation, clergy influence, and social networks. He has authored and co-authored numerous books and articles on these topics and is a frequent contributor to national discussions on religion’s role in democracy.
There will be a reception from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. before the lecture. The lecture will start at 6 p.m.in Ballroom B of the SIU Student Center.
