    Morton-Kenney Lecture Series

Sarah McCammon, national political correspondent for NPR, will visit SIU on March 27 to give the spring Morton-Kenney lecture.

Her lecture will be based on her new book, "The Exvangelicals: Loving, Living, and Leaving the White Evangelical Church." Her book is part memoir and part journalism and discusses the movement of people who grew up inside the evangelical subculture and ultimately left in response to its increasing politicization.

Ms. McCammon’s journalism centers on political, social, and cultural divides in America, including abortion policy and the intersections of politics and religion. She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated from Trinity College in Deerfield, Illinois. She began her career as a newspaper reporter in Chicago.

There will be a reception from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. before the lecture. There will be a book signing after the lecture.

Registration is no longer available because the registration deadline has passed.
